Abstract

ABSTRACT With the development of technology, people no longer need to go to shopping centers to look for their needs, just use their smartphones and look for the items needed online and wait at home, sellers will send goods according to buyer requests through delivery services, one of which is PT. J&T Express Solok City Branch. However, there are several problems in shipping such as damage and loss of goods that harm consumers. The delivery service is responsible for damage and loss of the item. The issues to be discussed are: 1) What are the factors causing the damage and to : 1) What are the factors causing damage and loss of consumer goods at the time of delivery at PT. J&T Express Solok City?. 2) What is the responsibility of PT. J&T Express delivery service company against damage and loss in Solok City?. This research uses a sociological legal approach. The data source used is primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are obtained through interviews and literature studies, the data analysis used is qualitative. Conclusion of the investigation: 1) There are two factors causing damage and loss in the delivery of goods, namely internal factors and external factors. 2) Responsibility of PT. J&T Express Kota Solok against damage and loss of consumer goods by indemnifying both using insurance and not using insurance in accordance with the applicable J&T Express operating procedure standards(SOP).
