ABSTRACT National economic development is currently growing very rapidly. One of the state-owned enterprises that encourages increased economic activity is PT Pegadaian. Risks can be caused by events or occurrences such as damaged collateral or lost goods. the responsibility of the pawnshop for pawned goods or collateral that are damaged or lost and the customer who experiences the loss wants to obtain responsibility from the pawnshop by demanding that the pawnshop compensate for the losses experienced, as regulated in Article 1152 paragraph (3) of the Civil Code. Problem Formulation 1) What is the responsibility of the pawnbroker for lost and damaged pawned goods at PT Pelgadailan (Pelrselro) Tarandam Padang? 2) What are the efforts to resolve the issue of sales to compensate for the loss of lost pawned goods at PT Pelgadailan (Pelrselro) Tarandam Padang? The writing method used by the author is an empirical juridical method, namely studying legal theories or rules. The results of this research conclude that in the event of loss or damage to pawned goods as long as the pawned goods are still in the pawn agreement at PT Pegadaian Tarandam Padang, the pawnshop is fully responsible to its customers, responsible by means of compensation agreed by each party and to Efforts to resolve compensation can be through consensus deliberation and if no agreement is found then the parties can go to court.References
