Abstract

Current developments have had a huge influence on the use of information and electronic technology, one of which is in the field of trade, many people carry out buying and selling activities using electronic systems or what is usually called online or E-commerce. Electronic system buying and selling transactions have changed buying and selling activities which usually use conventional transactions. Electronic system buying and selling makes it easier for buyers in terms of goods and/or services, while sellers get convenience in marketing their products, and even get cost and time savings. In electronic system buying and selling activities, sellers and buyers do not meet face to face, so buyers do not can look at and even examine the items they are going to buy. Problem formulation (1) What is the role of consumer protection institutions in electronic system buying and selling transactions in the city of Padang? (2) What are the inhibiting factors for the Consumer Protection Agency in providing legal protection for electronic system buying and selling transactions in the city of Padang? (3) What are the efforts made by the Consumer Protection Agency to provide legal protection for electronic system buying and selling transactions in the city of Padang?
