IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH BERBASIS MASYARAKAT DI NAGARI AIR BANGIS KECAMATAN SUNGAI BEREMAS KABUPATEN PASAMAN BARAT

Based on the Regulation of the Regent of West Pasaman Number 44 of 2019 concerning the management of household waste and household-like waste, precisely in Article 2 Paragraph 1 of the Regulation of the Regent of West Pasaman. The community-based waste management system in Nagari Air Bangis should run optimally with full support from the community, provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure, and implementation of scheduled waste transportation, but what happens is that the effectiveness of this system is still limited due to lack of community support and limited resources. Problem Formulation in this study: 1) How is the implementation of the community-based waste management system in Nagari Air Bangis, Sungai Beremas District, West Pasaman Regency, 2) The obstacles faced in implementing the system, and 3) Efforts made to overcome obstacles in the implementation of the community-based waste management system. The type of research used is sociological juridical, with data sources consisting of primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews and document studies, while the data is analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study indicate that, 1) The implementation of a community-based waste management system in Nagari Air Bangis has been carried out through the provision of temporary integrated waste processing facilities (TPST), scheduled waste transportation, and socialization to the community, but its effectiveness is still limited due to lack of community support and limited resources; 2) The main obstacles in the implementation of this system include low public awareness of the importance of waste management, the habit of littering, and low participation in environmental progress in Nagari Air Bangis, Sungai Beremas District, West Pasaman Regency.References
