PERANAN DINAS SOSIAL DALAM MEMBERIKAN PELAYANAN DAN REHABILITASI SOSIAL TERHADAP ANAK TERLANTAR DI KOTA PADANG

Abstract

Article 4 of Law Number 35 of 2014 Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection, namely that every child has the right to live and participate fairly. The Social Service has the task of assisting local governments in social affairs and the protection of neglected children, but there are still many neglected children in Padang City. as well as the obstacles and efforts made. The formulation of the problem includes: 1) What is the Role of the Social Service in Providing Social Services and Rehabilitation for Neglected Children in Padang City? 2) What are the obstacles faced by the Social Service in Providing Social Services and Rehabilitation for Neglected Children in Padang City? 3) What are the efforts to overcome the obstacles faced by the Social Service in Providing Social Services and Rehabilitation for Neglected Children in Padang City? The method used in this study is the Type of Research, Data Sources, and Data Collection Techniques. This method is carried out in a sociological juridical manner through direct data collection at the Padang City Social Service. The results of the study show: 1) The Social Service maps the identity of neglected children and empowers them to achieve a decent standard of living, 2) The main obstacles include lack of coordination with related agencies and low public awareness, 3) Efforts are made by handling problems directly and providing protection for neglected children through special programs.
