Abstract

Ministerial Regulation Number 2 of 2015 aims to provide protection for domestic workers. In the implementation of the policy in Padang City is still not optimal, most domestic workers have not received rights, such as decent wages, rest time, and social security. Problem formulation: 1). How is the implementation and protection of domestic workers' rights in Padang City?; 2). What are the obstacles faced by domestic workers in the implementation and protection of domestic workers' rights in Padang City?; 3) What efforts are made to overcome obstacles in the implementation and protection of domestic workers' rights in Padang City? Type of sociological legal research; data sources obtained from primary data, namely interviews and secondary data; Data collection techniques from document studies and interviews; Data analysis using Qualitative methods; Research results; 1) Domestic workers still do not fully understand the applicable regulations.; 2) The obstacles encountered in Padang City are a weak legal basis because it is not directly related to the Manpower Law; 3) Low legal awareness among domestic worker service providers, domestic worker service users, and domestic workers themselves.
