PERANAN DINAS PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT, PEREMPUAN DAN PERLINDUNGAN ANAK (DPMPPA) DALAM MENANGANI KASUS KEKERASAN TERHADAP PEREMPUAN DAN ANAK DI KOTA SOLOK

Abstract

Violence against women and children is a complex social issue that continues to rise. Departmen of Community Empowerment, Women, and Child Protection (DPMPPA). DPMPPA Kota Solok plays a role in handling cases of violence against women and children. The problem formulations are: (1) How is the role of DPMPPA Kota Solok in handling cases of violence against women and children? (2) What are the challenges faced by DPMPPA Kota Solok? (3) What ef orts have been made by DPMPPA Kota Solok? This research is socio-legal. The data sources used are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques include document studies and interviews, which are analyzed using qualitative analysis. The research results show that: (1) DPMPPA Kota Solok has actively played its role in handling cases of violence against women and children. (2) The challenges faced by DPMPPA Kota Solok include the absence of UPTD PPA, limited human resources and budget, as well as low public awareness in reporting cases of violence due to social stigma and cultural norms. (3) The ef orts made by DPMPPA Kota Solok to overcome these challenges include cross-sector collaboration, socialization and dissemination of information, as well as assistance according to the needs of victims.
