PENERAPAN HUKUM PERLINDUNGAN KONSUMEN DALAM TRANSAKSI JUAL BELI PRODUK ELEKTRONIK CACAT DI PASAR RAYA PADANG

Abstract

ABSTRACT Consumer protection aims to ensure that consumer rights are protected in buying and selling transactions. This study focuses on consumer protection in buying and selling transactions of defective electronic goods at Pasar Raya Padang, which often faces problems with defective or substandard products. The formulation of the research problem is: 1) Analyzing the application of consumer protection law in buying and selling transactions of defective electronic products, 2) Obstacles faced by business actors, and 3) Efforts by business actors to overcome these obstacles. The method used is sociological juridical with a legislative approach to understand the implementation of consumer protection law. Primary data was obtained through interviews with business actors, while secondary data came from literature, journals, and related legal documents. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively. The results of the study show: 1) The application of consumer protection law at Pasar Raya Padang is good, with most traders realizing the importance of providing clear and transparent information to consumers regarding the condition of the goods, 2) The obstacle faced by business actors is the lack of understanding of consumer protection law regulations, so they prefer practical solutions, 3) Efforts by business actors are to provide complete and clear information to consumers, so that buyers can make wiser decisions.
