Abstract

ABSTRAK This research discusses the role of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in providing consumer protection to Information Technology-Based Financing Services (LPBBTI), both licensed and unlicensed. Digital funding services offer easy access to financing, but are also high-risk due to misuse of personal data and unethical collection practices. OJK plays an important role in supervising and regulating this sector to protect consumers. The problem formulations in this study are: (1) How is the implementation of OJK's role in protecting consumers of licensed and unlicensed LPBBTI? (2) What are the challenges faced by OJK in overseeing consumer protection in the information technology-based crowd funding service sector? The objectives of this study are: (1) Analyze the implementation of OJK's role in providing consumer protection to LPBBTI; (2) Identify and evaluate the challenges faced by OJK in overseeing the information technology-based joint funding service sector.This research uses a normative legal method with data collection through document study and qualitative analysis. Data is collected through analysis of laws and regulations, legal literature, and various documents related to LPBBTI regulations. The results of the study are expected to provide an understanding of the effectiveness of OJK's role and supervisory challenges in this sector, as well as provide recommendations for regulatory and supervisory improvements.
