FAKTOR KRIMINOGEN TERJADINYA RESIDIF PADA ANAK (STUDI KASUS DI LEMBAGA PEMBINAAN KHUSUS ANAK KELAS II PAYAKUMBUH)

According to Article 2 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections, rehabilitation at the Special Child Development Institution (LPKA) aims to prevent children from repeating criminal acts and enable them to return to society as productive individuals. However, in reality, data at Class II LPKA Payakumbuh shows 45 cases of recidivism during the 2022-2025 period. This research aims to: 1) analyze the criminogenic factors causing recidivism in children, and 2) analyze the prevention efforts undertaken by Class II LPKA Payakumbuh. The research employs an empirical juridical approach with primary data obtained from interviews and secondary data in the form of recidivism records from 2022-2025. Data were analyzed qualitatively. The research findings indicate: 1) criminogenic factors causing recidivism include broken home family conditions, economic difficulties, negative peer influence, low education levels, and negative social stigma; 2) LPKA has implemented comprehensive rehabilitation programs encompassing character development, skills training, and independence building, though hindered by the absence of continuous post-release support. Enhanced coordination among LPKA, Bapas, families, and communities is needed to prevent recidivism in children.
