Abstract

Coastal Area Management is an important part of sustainable regional development, which is regulated in Law Number 27 of 2007 concerning the Management of Coastal Areas and Small Islands. In the context of Padang City which has a vast coastal area with high natural resource potential. Problem formulation 1) What is the form of the Authority of the Mayor of Padang in Coastal Area Management in Bungus Teluk Kabung District, Padang City? 2) What are the obstacles faced by the Mayor of Padang in Coastal Area Management? 3) What are the Efforts made by the Mayor of Padang in Coastal Area Management? The research method used is sociological legal research. Using Primary Data Sources and Secondary Data. Furthermore, the Data Collection Technique uses document studies and interviews, then analyzed using qualitative analysis. The results of the study indicate that: 1) The forms of authority of the Mayor of Padang in managing coastal areas are: a. Determination of Coastal Policy b. Supervision of Coastal Area Utilization c. Development of Coastal Communities d. Environmental Mitigation and Conservation e. Inter-Agency Coordination, 2) The obstacles faced by the Mayor of Padang are: a. Pollution b. Decrease in biodiversity c. Natural disasters d. Landscape characteristics, 3) Efforts made by the Mayor of Padang are: a. Pollution Control b. Biodiversity Conservation c. Natural Disaster Mitigation and Preparedness Efforts d. Integrated Coastal Area Management Strategy in Anticipating Landscape Changes.
