DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF AIR MANIS BEACH TOURISM DESTINATION AS A NATURAL TOURISM AREA IN PADANG CITY BASED ON PADANG MAYOR REGULATION NUMBER 46 OF 2020

Abstract

Padang City as a coastal area in Indonesia has a strategic tourist area, one of which is Air Manis Beach, whose management has not been optimal. The management of the tourist area is based on Padang Mayor Regulation Number 46 of 2020 Article 4 paragraph (1) namely In order to develop the Air Manis Beach Tourist Attraction into a comfortable and memorable leading tourist attraction, the Mayor of Padang assigned Perumda PSM to carry out the management of the Air Manis Beach Tourist Attraction. The formulation of the problem is: 1) How is the development and management of the Air Manis Beach tourist destination as a natural tourist area in Padang City? 2) What are the obstacles faced in the development and management of the Air Manis Beach tourist destination as a natural tourist area in Padang City? 3) What efforts are made to overcome obstacles in the development and management of the Air Manis Beach tourist destination as a natural tourist area in Padang City?. Type of sociological legal research. Data collection techniques are document studies, interviews and observations. Data are analyzed using qualitative analysis. Research Results: 1) The development and management of the Air Manis Beach tourist destination in Padang City is carried out based on the regulatory framework and synergy between the Department of Tourism and Culture and Perumda Padang Sejahtera Mandiri. 2) The obstacles faced are in the form of less than optimal arrangement of traders, limited tourist attractions 3) Efforts made through area arrangement, outreach to traders, development of tourist attractions, and strengthening inter-agency coordination to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of the destination
