PEMBATASAN KEBEBASAN BEREKSPRESI DI MESIA SOSIAL PADA SAAT DEMONSTRASI AGUSTUS 2025 DALAM PERSPEKTIF HAK ASASI MANUSIA

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of freedom of expression in Indonesia, especially with the emergence of various problems, including restrictions on freedom of expression. Restrictions on freedom of expression through social media during the demonstrations in August 2025 have caused significant conflicts between national security priorities and human rights. This research is a Normative Juridical study. The results of the study indicate that restrictions on freedom of expression on social media during the August 2025 demonstrations from a Human Rights perspective are: Disabling the Live Broadcast Feature on Instagram and TikTok, Blocking Accounts, Arrests of demonstrators. The impact of restrictions on freedom of expression on social media during the August 2025 demonstrations from a Human Rights perspective are: Riots in various provinces, Casualties, Disruption of Economic Activity
