Abstract

ABSTRAK

 

Legal protection for occupational safety and health (OHS) is a fundamental right of every worker and is also a company's obligation to create safe, healthy, and productive working conditions. The implementation of OHS is increasingly important due to the continued occurrence of workplace accidents, which demonstrate the need to strengthen the labor protection system. PT. X Unit Padang, as a company in the food and agribusiness industry, is responsible for implementing OHS provisions in accordance with laws and regulations. This study aims to analyze: (1) The implementation of OHS legal protection for workers; (2) The level of compliance and effectiveness of the OHS system implementation based on SOPs and regulations; and (3) The company's efforts to maintain and improve OHS legal protection. This study uses a sociological juridical method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews and document studies, then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that: (1) OHS legal protection has been integrated into SOPs and job descriptions, accompanied by the provision of PPE, training, and routine supervision; (2) The level of worker compliance is good and the OHS system runs effectively according to regulations; and (3) The company conducts periodic evaluations, competency improvements, and safety culture strengthening to ensure ongoing OHS legal protection.
