Abstract

ABSTRAK

Follow-up on the implementation of drug and food supervision of the distribution of packaged food products without halal labels in the city of Padang, where based on facts in the field, ready-to-eat foods are still widely found in the city of Padang, such as packaged chips, packaged rendang, and cookies in Padang supermarkets. Problem formulation: 1) How does BPOM supervise the distribution of packaged food products without halal labels? 2) What are the obstacles faced by BPOM in monitoring the distribution of packaged food products without halal labels? 3) What efforts has BPOM made to address the distribution of packaged products without halal labels? The data sources used were primary and secondary data, and the data collection techniques used were document studies and interviews, which were analyzed qualitatively. Research results: 1) BPOM's supervision of the distribution of packaged food products without halal labels is carried out through Proactive Supervision and Reactive Supervision. 2) The obstacles faced by BPOM in supervising the distribution of packaged food products without halal labels are the lack of understanding and compliance among business actors, institutional barriers, and limited laboratory testing facilities and infrastructure. 3) BPOM's efforts to overcome the distribution of packaged products without halal labels are: Increasing Socialization and Education for Business Actors, Especially MSMEs, Strengthening Cross-Sectoral Cooperation and Inter-Agency Coordination, Utilizing Information Technology for Supervision and Reporting.
