Divorce ends the marital relationship legally and brings consequences like a husband's obligations to his ex-wife and children, Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage and the Compilation of Islamic Law generally regulate those responsibilities after divorce. However, in reality, the implementation of these obligations has not been fully effective, especially in Koto Tangah District. Problem formulation: 1) What are the forms of husband's responsibilities after divorce in Koto Tangah District? 2) What are the obstacles for husbands to carry out their responsibilities after divorce? 3) What is the solution to carrying out husband's responsibilities after divorce. This study employs sociological legal research through a qualitative approach; it draws primary data from interviews with judges and clerks at the Padang Religious Court, alongside secondary data such as laws, regulations, and legal literature. The results show husband's responsibilities cover iddah maintenance, mut'ah maintenance, madiyah maintenance, as well as child maintenance and education costs. The main obstacles frequently encountered are the husband's absence from court, the husband's unclear income, financial constraints, and low legal awareness. Courts need to maximize their role and people should boost legal awareness so ex-wife and children's rights stay protected.
