Road infrastructure development is a crucial aspect of village governance because it directly impacts community mobility and improves welfare. Normatively, West Sumatra Provincial Regulation Number 7 of 2018 concerning Villages, Article 10, emphasizes that Village Heads are tasked with organizing village governance, implementing development, public services, community development, and community empowerment. The condition of road infrastructure in Air Dingin Nagari, Lembah Gumanti District, Solok Regency, remains damaged in several areas, hampering community social and economic activities. Based on these conditions, the research questions are as follows: 1) What is the role of the Village Head (Wali Nagari) in implementing road infrastructure improvements? 2) What obstacles have been encountered in implementing road infrastructure improvements in Air Dingin Village, Lembah Gumanti District, Solok Regency? 3) What efforts have been made to overcome these obstacles in implementing road improvements in Air Dingin Village, Lembah Gumanti District, Solok Regency? This research uses a sociological legal research method. Data were obtained through document studies and interviews, then analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study: 1) The role of the Village Head (Wali Nagari) indicates that the Village Head has played a role in planning through village meetings, implementing road improvements, and overseeing the use of village funds. 2) The obstacles faced include budget limitations, geographical conditions, and suboptimal community participation. 3) The efforts made to overcome these obstacles include increasing transparency, cooperation, and community participation to ensure more effective and sustainable road infrastructure development.
