Abstract

ABSTRACT

 Legal Aid Post (Posbakum) at the District Court is a free legal service for the underprivileged according to Perma No. 1 of 2014. The formulation of the problem includes: how the implementation of the Legal Aid Post fulfills access to justice for the poor in the Pulau Punjung District Court, what obstacles are faced in its implementation, and what efforts are made to overcome these obstacles. This research uses a sociological approach with data sources consisting of primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out through document studies and interviews, and the data are analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Legal Aid Post (Posbakum) at the Pulau Punjung District Court has not been optimal due to several obstacles, including the limited number of advocates, time constraints, limited access to client information, lack of coordination with related institutions, and low public legal awareness and literacy. As a result, the number of poor people utilizing Posbakum in the 2024–2025 period has decreased. Efforts to overcome these obstacles include adding advocates, adjusting service schedules, improving client data collection systems, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and providing legal outreach to the community. With these strategies, Posbakum is expected to function more effectively as an instrument to ensure inclusive and equitable access to justice for all levels of society.
