PERAN KEPOLISIAN RESOR PADANG PARIAMAN DALAM PENEGAKAN HUKUM TERHADAP KASUS FEMISIDA
Abstract
Violence against women resulting in death, or femicide, remains a serious issue in Indonesia. The absence of specific regulations governing femicide poses challenges in law enforcement, particularly at the stages of investigation and inquiry. This condition requires law enforcement officials to be able to apply gender-sensitive justice principles in handling cases of violence against women. This study aims to analyze the role of law enforcement officers in handling femicide cases, identify the obstacles encountered, and formulate recommendations to enhance legal protection for women victims of violence. This research employs an empirical (sociological) research method. Data sources consist of primary data obtained through interviews and secondary data derived from document studies. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative methods. The results of the study indicate that law enforcement officers have carried out law enforcement efforts in femicide cases in accordance with the authority stipulated in statutory regulations. However, in practice, several obstacles remain, including limited gender-sensitive regulations, a legal culture that is not yet gender-sensitive, and limitations in resources, resulting in suboptimal legal protection for women victims of violence. The Padang Pariaman Resort Police have actively implemented law enforcement in femicide cases through investigation and inquiry processes in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code, up to the submission of cases to the public prosecutor.
