INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW SETTING ON THE USE AND PROTECTION OF MOVEMENT SYMBOL RED CROSS RED CRESCENT INTERNATIONAL
Abstract
ABSTRACT
There are two recognized emblem as a symbol of humanitarian objectives in the international Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement International . Coat is used as a symbol for protection and identification of victims of armed conflict . ie Red Cross , Red Crescent . 1949 Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols provide protection regulations for the use of the symbol for peace and prevent abuse in situations of armed conflict . Analysis of usage settings emblem of the Red Cross Movement and the International Red Crescent and requirements - any condition that must be fulfilled in the use of the symbol of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies . The method used normative juridical approach . Research is a descriptive study using primary data sources , secondary and tertiary of legal materials . Collected data were processed and analyzed using qualitative methods . This study found that the emblem . The study also revealed that the regulation with respect to the use and protection of the emblem in Indonesia has not been established yet . This is contrary to the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and Additional Protocol , every country should have the discernment to ensure respect for and protection of the emblem , both in peace and a state armed conflict
