ABSTRAK
War correspondent included in part of non-combatenthat has protecting regulation in
International Humaniter law and being state responsibility to frotecting the jurnalist rights in
their jurnalitic order. The protect is given to the jurnalist if they’re not doing harms act and
harm their place as war correspondent. Although it has regulation about the war
correspondent protect ekspeciali at geneva convention 1949, yet in implementation of this
convention at the times got foult to an interest. This studied puposed to a) to knowing how
the protect regulation of war correspondent in humaniter law b) to knowing rights and
obligations under humanitarian law of warjournalists c) to knowing state resposibility of
rights violations of war correspondent.Metoderesearch used inthis studyis
anormativeyurisdismethod. While the technique of collecting data from various literature
books, journals written reports, magazines and other documents and inqualitative analysis.
From the results of this study concluded a) granting the status of a civil specifically stipulated
in the 1949 Geneva Conventions, and they should not be the target of a military attack b) war
correspondent news right to seek and disseminate information, and obligeduntudid not
participate inarmed conflict c) Crimes committed by state officials or persons acting on
behalf of the statecan becharged to thestate.
