PERAN KOMISI PEMILIHAN UMUM KABUPATEN SOLOK SELATAN MENGANTISIPASI MASYARAKAT YANG TIDAK MENGGUNAKAN HAK PILIH DALAM PEMILIHAN UMUM DEWAN PERWAKILAN RAKYAT DAERAH KABUPATEN SOLOK SELATAN

Abstract

The general election comittee at the regency level was responsible for holding the general election in the regency. The general election was a mean of applying the people’s sovereignty in a direct, public, secret, honest, and fair way. The general election was done by using the principles of independency,honesty, fairness, law certainty, order, public importance, opennes, proportionality, profesionalism, accountability, efficiency, and affectivity. The problems in this research were (1) the application of the general election of provincial legislative assembly at Kabupaten Solok Selatan, (2) obstacles faced by the general election committee in antipating contituents who did not use their election right in the general election of provincial legislative assembly at Kabupaten Solok Selatan, (3) efforts done by the general election committee in anticipating who did not use their election rights in the general election of provincial legislative assembly at Kabupaten Solok Selatan. The approaching method used in this research was the sociological law using both primary and secondary data. The data were obtained from documentation and interview. From the data analysis, it was found that the general election committee worked very well in anticipating constituens who did not use their election rights in the general election of provincial legislative assembly at Kabupaten Solok Selatan. It was seen from the high level of constituens’ participations during the general election of provincial legislative assmbly in 2014
