Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of communication skills and student learning outcomes in learning mathematics in grade IV SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara. The purpose of this study is to improve communication skills and student learning outcomes in learning mathematics using cooperative model type send greetings and questions. This type of research is a classroom action research. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and one final test cycle. The subject of this research is the fourth grade students of SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara, which is 25 students. The research instrument used is observation sheet of student communication ability, observation sheet of teacher activity and test of student learning result. Based on the analysis of communication ability and student learning outcomes in each cycle showed improvement. In the first cycle the communication ability of 34% increased to 68% in the second cycle. Then the students' learning result by 44% increased to 72% in the second cycle. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that in the implementation of learning mathematics through cooperative model type send greetings and questions in SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara can improve communication skills and student learning outcomes. Based on the results of this study researchers suggest teachers can apply cooperative learning model type send greetings and questions.
