Abstrak

ABSTRACT

        This study aims to see differences in learning outcomes of science students, namely between learning outcomes that use conventional learning methods with student learning outcomes that use the method of demonstration in science learning in class V SDN 09 Air Pacah Kota Padang. This research is an experimental research, with the population in this study are all students of grade V SDN 09 Air Pacah Kota Padang. Sampling in this research was done by random sampling technique, the samples were taken from the three classes conducted by drawing, the first class was taken as the experimental class and the class was then taken into control class, the result of the draw was obtained VB class as experiment class and Class VC as control class. The observed learning result is the cognitive domain seen from the final test result of the research. The data in this study is in the form of the final test further in though with t test. From result of data analysis by using t test, obtained tcoun that is 3,426. When compared with ttable is 2.016 then tcoun>ttable (α 0,05), thus hypothesis used in this research accepted. In this research, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of science students of grade V SDN 09 Air Pacah Kota Padang using demonstration method show positive results, because the learning outcomes in the experimental class is higher than the learning outcomes in the control class, where the learning outcomes of cognitive in the classroom Experiments (average 87.86), control class (average 75.80). It is therefore desirable for classroom teachers to be able to use demonstration methods, as one of the methods in science learning throughout the elementary school level.
