This study aims to determine the significant effect on the learning outcomes of fourth graders in IPS (social Sciences) Learning through Word Square model in SD Sabbihisma 1 Padang. The type of this research is experimental research. The population of this research is all fourth grade students of SD Sabbihisma 1 Padang year lesson 2016/2017. A total of 50 students were selected as a sample determined by simple random sampling technique. The data analyzed in this study is the score of student learning outcomes in the IPS (social Sciences)learning cognitive domain that is collected through objective tests. The results showed that, there are significant differences in student learning outcomes on learning between the application of Word Square learning model with student learning outcomes on learning IPS application of conventional learning. This can be seen from the average gain of the experimental class is higher than the average gain of the control class (experiments = 82.29> control = 73.92) and the hypothesis test results using the t-test, with t_count> t_table (t_count = 2.204> t_tabel = 2.01). So it can be concluded, the model of learning Word Square effect on student learning outcomes on learning IPS (social Sciences)class IV SD Sabbihisma 1 Padang. Seeing the results of this study by applying the model of learning Word Square influence on learning outcomes in learning social studies and need to be applied and developed in order to achieve optimal learning outcomes.
