This research was conducted to determine whether or not the influence of the implementation of the learning model of Debate in class IV on IPS learning. In the learning process teachers tend to use lecture methods that result in low student learning outcomes, for that researchers propose a solution to implement the model of learning Debate in IPS learning. The purpose of this research is to see the effect of student's IPS learning by applying the Debate learning model to the learning outcomes in the cognitive level of Knowledge (C1) and Understanding (C2) in class IV SD Negeri 23 Lubuk Alung. The population of this research consists of class I to class VI SD Negeri 23 Lubuk Alung and the sample in this research is the fourth grade students SDN 23 Lubuk Alung which amounted to 2 classes and combined the two classes to 44 students. The results of this research were obtained by giving the test at the end of the learning of the two sample classes. tcount compared  ttablewith dk =  +  - 2 = 42 at the level of trust α = 0.05 obtainedttable=  1,68 obtained tcount>ttablemeans received or rejected . The formulation of the final test results that in obtainingtcountis greater thanttablethat is 1.68.Hence it can be concluded that the experimental class learning outcomes are better than the learning results of the control class.
