Abstrak

ABSTRACT


This research is motivated by the low ability of reading students' understanding on learning Indonesian. The purpose of this research is to know the ability of reading comprehension on Indonesian lesson using V class scramble model at SDN 11 Kurao Pagang, Padang. The theory of this research is a model of scramble learning using Istarani theory. Variables in this research is the model of learning scramble and reading ability of learner. The type of research conducted is experimental research with the population of all students class V SDN 11 Kurao Pagang, Padang. With sampling technique is purposive sampling technique by considering the average value in class V. The experimental group is students of class V.A with average of 70.2 and control group that is student of class V.B with average 71,8. The results showed that students' reading ability was obtained through the final test in the form of a 20-item scramble question with an average grade for the experimental class was 79.76 and the control class was 71.19. This is evidenced from the results of t-test then obtained tcount is 2.46 and ttable is 1.6838 for t count > t table then accept H1 and reject H0, it means the hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that students 'reading ability using scramble learning model is better than students' reading ability using conventional learning model in grade V SDN 11 Kurao Pagang, Padang.
