Abstrak

Abstract
This study aims to describe the effect of the application of Realistic Mathematics Edu cation
approach to the student’s mathematics learning outcomes of grade V SDN 43 Sungai Sapih
Padang. The type of this research is experimental research with the population in this study is
all students of grade V SDN 43 Sungai Sapih Padang, amounting to 63 students. The
sampling step in this research is to te st the average equality of both samples and get the class
V A as the experimental class and the VB class as the control class. Hypothesis testing is
done by t-test, because the data is normally distributed and the variance is homogeneous. The
result of the final test shows the average value of Mathematics students by using Realistic
Mathematics Education approach with the average grade of experimental 81,77 and the
control class average value 72,19 with the level of statistical test (α = 0,05) t _count = 2. 202
and t_table = 1.669 means t _count > t_table, then hypothesis H_ (1) accepted. Based on the
results of this study can be concluded that the results of learning mathematics students class
V SDN 43 Sungai Sapih Padang learning applying Realistic Mathematics Education
approach better than the results of learning mathematics students who apply ordinary
learning. Looking at the learning approach of Realistic Mathematics Education give s a
positive impact on student’s mathematics learning outcomes, then teachers should be able to
use this learning approach.
