Abstrak

Abstract
This study aims to see differences in learning outcomes of conventional learning
mathematics (lectures) with the use of inquiry methods in learning Mathematics in
class IV SD Sabbihisma 01 Padang. This research is experimental research, with
population in this research is all fourth grade students of SD Sabbihisma 01
padang academic year 2016/2017. Sampling in this research is done by random
sampling technique. With the research instument is a essay. The observed learning
result is the cognitive domain seen from the final test result of the research. The
learning outcomes in the experimental class were better than the control class
learning outcomes, where the cognitive domain learning outcomes in the
experimental class class (mean 82.67), control class (mea n 73.54). The result of
student's mathematics learning in both sample class is normal distribution and
homogeneous variation hence to test the next hypothesis in though with t test.
From result of data analysis by using t test, obtained t_table that is 2,0 17. When
compared with t_hcount is 2.39 then > (α 0.05), thus the hypothesis
used in this study is accepted. In this study it can be concluded that the result of
learning mathematics by using inquiry method show positive result.
