The purpose of this study was to determine the significant differences of student learning outcomes in learning Indonesian between students who were treated by using cooperative learning model type Pair Checks with students who were treated by using conventional learning methods on students of class V SD Negeri 18 Batipuh Tanah Datar School Year 2016/2017. Theories used to support this research data are Shoimin's book covering the definition of Pair Checks learning model, Pair Checks learning model steps, the advantages of Pair Checks learning model, and lack of Pair Checks learning model.This type of research includes experimental research with research design that is Randomized Control Group Only Design.The population in this study is all students of grade V SD Negeri 18 Batipuh Tanah Datar Regency amounting to 39 people.In this study students are divided into two classes, namely experimental class and control class.The results showed that the average of student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 84.25 and in the control class was 72.63.To test the research hypothesis, used the score of learning result Indonesian students obtained through final test. Technique of data analysis used is technique of difference difference mean that is t-test formula. Based on the data analysis of student learning outcomes with the level of trust 0.05 obtained tcount = 2.53 and ttable= 2.02. This means tcount> ttable and hypothesis expected in accepted research.Based on hypothesis test results, it can be concluded that the treatment of cooperative learning model type Pair Checks can influence student learning outcomes in a better direction.
