Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh, guru dalam proses pembelajaran cenderung menggunakan metode ceramah, guru dalam menyampaikan pembelajaran cenderung tidak memberikan ide-ide baru, hasil belajar IPS siswa masih banyak dibawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM). Penelitianinibertujuanuntukmengetahuiapakahhasilbelajar IPSsiswa yang menerapkan model Snowball Throwinglebihbaikdaripadahasilbelajar IPSsiswa yang menerapkanmetodepembelajarankonvensionalpadasiswakelasIV SDN 20 Batang Anai. Jenispenelitaniniadalaheksperimen.PopulasipenelitianyaituseluruhsiswakelasIV SDN 20 Batang AnaitahunPelajaran 2016/2017 yang terdiridari 2 kelas.SampelpenelitianadalahkelasIVAsebagaikelaseksperimendankelas IVBsebagaikelas kontrol.Instrumen yang digunakandalampenelitianiniadalahteshasilbelajarsiswa.Bentuk tes yang digunakan adalah objektif.Berdasarkan analisis data yang didapat dari hasil uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t diperoleh bahwa t hitung = 1,26, sedangkan t tabel =2,026 pada taraf nyata α 0,05 dan dk = 37. Dengandemikian, thitungt tablemakahipotesis tidak diterimaatau tidak terdapatnya pengaruh hasil belajar IPS siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing.

This research is backgrounded by, teachers in the learning process tend to use the lecture method, the teacher in conveying the learning tends not to give new ideas, the student's learning outcomes are still many under the Minimum Exhaustiveness criteria (KKM). This study aims to determine whether the results of learning IPS students who apply the Snowball Throwing model is better than the results of IPS learning students who apply conventional learning methods in students of grade IV SDN 20 BatangAnai. This type of research is experiment. The research population is all students of grade IV of SDN 20 BatangAnai in Lesson 2016/2017 which consists of 2 classes. The sample of the research is the class IVA as the experimental class and the IVB class as the control class. The instrument used in this study is a test of student learning outcomes. The form of test used is objective. Based on the analysis of data obtained from the results of hypothesis testing using t-test obtained that t arithmetic = 1.26, while t table = 2.026 at the real level α 0.05 and dk = 37. Thus, t count <t table then the hypothesis is not Acceptance or absence of influence of learning result of student's IPS by using Snowball Throwing learning model.
