Abstrak

SUMMARY

 

One of the factors causing low learning outcomes or the percentage of students who achieve mathematics learning completeness is that the classroom learning is still concentrated in the teacher, in the learning process only a small number of active and willing to ask students. To overcome these conditions, the authors conducted a study entitled "Application of Active Learning Type Practice-Rehearsal Pairs in Learning Mathematics Students Class VII SMPN 31 Padang".

The purpose of this study is to determine the development of student learning activities and compare the results of learning mathematics students who apply Active Learning Type Practice-Rehearsal Pairs with applying regular learning to students in grade VII SMPN 31 Padang. The question in this study is how the development of student activities during the implementation of Active Learning Type Practice-Rehearsal Pairs and ordinary learning to students in grade VII SMPN 31 Padang. The hypothesis in this study is the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics applying Active Learning Type Practice-Rehearsal Pairs higher than the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics by applying ordinary learning.

The type of research used is experimental research. The population in this study were students of class VII SMPN 31 Padang year lesson 2016/2017. The sample in this research is class VII.2 as many as 34 students as experimental class and class VII.3 as many as 34 students as control class.

The percentage of students who do learning activities in the experimental class is generally higher than the percentage of students who do learning activities in the control class, although at each meeting the learning activities of students do not always increase and only dominant in certain activity indicators. Regarding the results of student learning in both classes of sample research, after hypothesis testing obtained = 4,78 and db = 1 with In this study used  Because  H1 accepted. Thus, the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics that apply Practice-Rehearsal Pairs Active Learning is higher than the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics that apply regular learning. Thus, it is concluded that the results of mathematics learning that apply Practice-Rehearsal Pairs Active Learning is better than the results of mathematics learning that apply ordinary learning.

Researchers suggest that teachers can apply Active Learning Type Practice-Rehearsal Pairs in learning mathematics as an alternative to achieve learning objectives.
