Abstrak

SUMMARY

 

            The low of mathematics learning result of Grade VIII SMPN 13 Padang is caused by several factors, namely the lack of interaction between teacher and students and between students and students, the lack of students' response to the teacher's inquiry, the lack of students' desire to inquire and the lack of students' desire to discuss with friends in the process Learning. To overcome the problem one of the efforts that can be done is to apply cooperative learning model of Jigsaw  with LKS.

            The purpose of this study is to determine the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics by applying cooperative learning model of Jigsaw  with LKS is higher than the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics by applying regular learning to students in grade VIII SMPN 13 Padang year lesson 2016/2017. The hypothesis proposed is the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics by applying cooperative learning model of Jigsaw with LKS is higher than the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics by applying regular learning to students of grade VIII SMPN 13 Padang.

            In accordance with the above, the type of research conducted is experimental research. The population of this study are students of class VIII SMPN 13 Padang year lesson 2016/2017. Once it was known that the homogeneous population was selected two classes of samples. The selected experimental class is class VIII2 and the control class selected is class VIII6. The instrument used in this study is a final test in the form of a description

Based on data of learning result in both sample class obtained = 3,47 and p value is . Therefore means reject  and accept H1. Thus, it is concluded that the proportion of students who achieve mathematics learning by applying cooperative learning model of Jigsaw with LKS is higher than the proportion of students who achieve mathematical learning by applying ordinary learning.

            Therefore, the researcher suggested that cooperative learning model of Jigsaw with LKS can be one of the alternative for teacher to increase student activity and result of learning.
