Abstrak

SUMARRY

               Learning is a process of changing human behavior for the better. In the school environment, these changes can be seen through students' ability to solve math problems. The background of this study is the attitude of students and learning habits of learning mathematics both at school and home and low mathematics learning outcomes of students on test day 1 semester.

               The purpose of this study is to reveal and find the influence of attitudes and habits of learning mathematics. The hypothesis presented is the existence of the influence of attitude and study habits to the problem solving skills of mathematics.This research method is descriptive research type correlational study with population of all students of class VII Kartika I-6 Padang. Data collection techniques are through a questionnaire of student attitudes, and questionnaires learning habits, as well as tests the ability to solve mathematical problems.

Technique of data analysis using technical analysis of regresi doubled with regression equation obtained.

               Based on data analysis, it can be concluded thatstudents’ attitude and study habit significantly influence to ability of problem solving of student mathematics From the results of the study it known that students have a good attitude and study habits in learning mathematics. By improving their attitudes and learning habits will improve the problem solving ability of mathematics. In addition, teachers are expected to also provide guidance and encouragement to students to improve attitudes and study habits.
