Abstrak

SUMMARY

Completeness of learning mathematics students of grade X of MIPA SMAN 5 Padang is still much less than the value of KKM. One of the factors causing the low percentage of students who achieve the completeness of learning mathematics is the initial understanding of students who are not good and students' learning interests are less good.To overcome these circumstances, researchers conducted a study entitled "The Influence of Early Understanding and Interest Learning Against Student Results Class X MIPA SMAN 5 Padang."

The purpose of this study is to determine the positive effects of early understanding and interest in learning of mathematics learning outcomes of students of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 5 Padang. Hypothesis in this research is there is positive influence from early understanding and interest of learning to result of student learning mathematics class X MIPA SMAN 5 Padang.

The type of this research is descriptive research. The population in this study were students of class X MIPA SMAN 5 Padang year lesson 2016/2017. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is questionnaire and description test.

The technique of data analysis using multiple regression analysis with regression equation obtained Ŷ = -19,669 + 0,474X1 + 0,802X2. Based on the data analysis can be concluded that, the initial understanding and interest in student learning positive effect on student learning outcomes of 41.58%.

From the results of the study is expected students have early understanding and interest in learning is good to form a good learning outcomes in learning mathematics. By improving the initial understanding and interest in learning can make learning outcomes better. In addition, teachers are expected to also provide guidance and encouragement to students.
