THE INFLUENCE OF LOGICAL INTELLIGENCE TO MATH’S ACHIEVEMENT OF 8th GRADE STUDENTS AT SMPN 18 PADANG

Abstrak

SUMMARY

Math’s logical intelligence influences student’s math study achievement. This research is  to know effect of logical intelligence to Math achievement at  Grade Student at SMPN 18 Padang.

The purpose of this research is to know/express the influence of math’s logical intelligence on learning achievement Math’s achievement at  Grade Student at SMPN 18 Padang. The hypothesis presented is there are influence of math’s logical intelligence on Math achievement at  Grade Student at SMPN 18 Padang.

The type of this research is descriptive research. Population in the study and one class is chosen as a sample is the whole class of  Grade Students at SMPN 18 Padang, using purposive sampling technique. Research instrument in the form of questionnaire and test description.

 The results of this study indicate that from a sample of 32 students there is  a correlation coefficient between math’s logical intelligence and math’s achievement by 0,37with regression equation. In addition,math’s intelligence logical mathematical students give a significant influence on Math Achievement of  Grade Students at SMPN 18 Padang, ie 13,69%.

From the resultsof the research are expected to students have Math’s logical intelligence in learning math. By improving math’s logical intelligence, students will make a good achievement on their study. It is also expected that teachers also provide guidance and encouragement to students in order to improve students math’s logical intelligence.
