Abstrak

SUMMARY
            One of the difficult materials used by students of class VIII SMP Negeri 31 Padang is to Build a Flat Sided Room with sub material Area of Surface Cube, Beams, Prism and Limas. Constraints experienced by students is the difficulty in understanding the concept and determine the formula and solve mathematical problems. Based on the problem the authors want to make interactive learning mathematics form of application that has animation and material presented in accordance with the subject area of the surface area of cubes, beams, prisms and limas and students can interact directly with the media.

The purpose of this research is to produce a valid interactive mathematical learning tool on the material of flat side room with sub subject of surface area of cube, beam, prism, and pyramid. Interactive learning mathematics tools can help students in the learning process.
This type of research is a developmental study using the development research steps according to ADDIE and according to Borg and Gall. The author conducted a study in SMP Negeri 31 Padang in class VIII-1 with the number of students 14 people.

Based on the results of research consisting of interviews conducted to collect information in the making of interactive mathematics learning media, validation sheet analysis done twice so it can be concluded that the learning media developed is good and can be used without revision. While from result of questionnaire test of practicality test obtained that positive response of student to instructional media used is 89%. So it can be concluded that the interactive learning mathematics media developed is valid and practical use as a medium in the process of learning mathematics.
