Education is a primary necessity that every human must possess. According to Susanto (2014: 84) Education is an organized, planned and continuous effort throughout life to nurture students into paripura, adult, and cultured people. To achieve this guidance the principle of education should be oriented to the development of all aspects of potential students, including cognitive, affective, and implicate aspects of psychomotor.

According Sugiyono (2009:80) population is a generalization region consisting of the object or subject into a certain quantity and characteristics set by the researcher. So it can be said that the population is all objects that have the same properties. Population in this research is all students of class V semester I at SDN 43 Sungai Sapih Padang, esearcher take sample by using technique of Purposive Sampling. According Sugiyono (2009:85), states that Purposive Sampling is a sampling technique with certain considerations.This study aims to find out the application of cooperative learning model of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type in science learning of grade V SDN 43 Sungai Sapih Padang. This type of research is an experimental research. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Instruments in this study is a test of student learning outcomes while data analysis techniques using t-test. Based on the research results obtained the average value of the experimental class is 80 and 69.82 in the control class, seen from the results of data analysis has been obtained obtainedtcount (3.286)> ttable (1.674), then the hypothesis accepted.The learning outcomes of science students of grade V SD Negeri 43 Sungai Sapih Padang using Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model is better than the result of science learning of students using conventional learning, and this research can be used as a reference in the implementation of learning by applying the Student Teams Achivement Division (STAD) because it can enrich the concept or theory that helps the development of science, especially science subjects.
