The Design of The Administrative Application in the Faculty of the Teacher Training and Education by using Java Netbeans IDE 8.1 and MySQL

Abstrak

The administration of the faculty of teacher training and education (FKIP) of Bung Hatta University in Padang is the one administrative service there. The process of data collecting on incoming and outgoing mails of it has been using manual method. There were some weaknesses and mistakes such as the trouble of seeking back the number of the archives of them have been put. This study aims to bring out the administrative application in the faculty of teacher training and education of Bung Hatta University in order to facilitate in managing them.
    The design of the system which uses Waterfall method begins from the analysis, applying Model Language of Context Diagram, Data Flow Diagram (DFD), and Unified Modelling Language (UML). The data storage also uses MySQL. Its stage ends by testing of the program, so that it has created the administrative application with using Java Netbeans IDE 8.1 and MySQL.
    The design which has been done previously implemented into codes line of the program so it yields the administrative application at FKIP. The testing of the system is the important stage to find out the weaknesses and the mistakes, and it intends to investigate a software that has been fulfilled the criterion itself. Furthermore, the method of it is Black Box method. The method focuses on the functional requirement of the software.
The application can ease and accelerate the process of data collection and seeking back the number of the outgoing and incoming mails at FKIP’s administration. It still has the weaknesses and the mistakes, so it requires to be developed by future researchers to be better such as the format of the mailing that still cannot be presentable because of too much use of the database calling, so the researcher got difficult to set the layout of the mailing page. And expected them to be able to add the more formats of the mailing.
