The Development of Computer Network & Data Communication Module to Collage Students of Informatics and Computer Engineering Education

Abstrak

Learning process is one of the important things to achieve the goals. However, the process in higher education is not as same as the secondary school. It does not give the materials like topics, but it also has to take the learning experiences that can explore the students’ independence to learn anytime. One factor that can encourage it is the reasonable learning resources such as texts, modules, hands out, etc. It could happen in learning Computer Network & Data Communication.

The major goal of this research is to produce Computer Network & Data Communication module that is valid, practical, and effective so it can help students in learning basic concepts in that material. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) that has steps such ad identification problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, product revision, trial usage, and product revision.

The module developed through validity test, practicality test, and the effectiveness test. The result of validity test got percentage to 86, 2% with good criterion, practical grade 79, 92 % with practical criterion, and effectiveness grade 74, 90% with good criterion. For consideration, the computer network and data communication module to the student of informatics and computer engineering education of Bung Hatta University can be valid, practical, and effective.

Based on that research above, it concluded that it has been developed the Computer Network and Data Communication module is on the competence standard of the material understanding.
