ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL TENTANG STATISTIK DI KELAS XI IPS SMA PEMBANGUNAN LABORATORIUM UNP PADANG

Abstrak

This research was conducted due to lack of understanding of statistic concepts for student in XI IPS SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP Padang. The purposesof this research are to analysis students’abilities in solving about statistic, to find out the mistakes made by students’ in solving the problems and to analysis the difficulties that can cause students’ errors in solving statistic problems in XI IPS SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP Padang.

The method for this research is descriptive. The technic for sampling is purposive sampling and XI IPS 4 chosen for this research. Instruments of this research are questions, test and interview of 7 students.

The results of this research showed that students’ can’t solve statistic problems. The highest score is 55 and the lowest is 19,17. Students’ mistakes are including in writing statistic formula and interpreting statistic problems. The causes are because students don’t ask the teacher, students don’t study, and students can’t focus in class because of their friends.

Based on finding, it is suggested to mathematic teachers in SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP Padang to choose the right model, methode, and strategic. So that learning objectives can be achieved.
