Parents’ Economic Social Status influence toward students’ learning achievement on Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi subject on grade IX at SMPN 1 Batang Anai

Abstrak

Researcher has done observation at SMPN 1 Batang Anai on February 7, 2017. And researcher also has done interview with Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi teacher, the result was students still passive in the class. It can be seen in teaching and learning process. The students only recieved the material that given by the teacher and there was no desire to know more about the material or to review about material that has given by teacher. Especially on Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi subject. There are some students who objection to do the task in the morning before the class begin.

Descriptive research is a research that explain about what happened in a frame, range, or specific zone. The population of this research was all of students on grade IX at SMPN 1 Batang Anai on academic year 2016 – 2017. The number of population is 197 students. The sample of this research was 2 classes and the number of sample was 40 students on grade IX SMPN 1 Batang Anai on academic year 2016 – 2017.

Based on the data that has given by school, parents’ economic status was looked by their education background. 2 students who have average score was 72.5 have parents that education background is diploma/bachelor, 12 students who have average score was 65 have parents that education background is Senior High School, 11 students who have average score 63.2 have parents that education background is Junior High School, and 15 students who have average score 72.7 have parents that education background is Elementary. It means that parents knew the important of education for their children. So that the background of parents’ education was influence to students’ learning achievement.

Based on research result and discussion, it can be concluded that: educational level, job, and income level have influence to students learning achievement.
