THE EFFECT OF NUMBERED HEADS STRUCTURE MODEL ON THE LEARNING RESULT CIVIL ENGINEERING CLASS V OF SD N 09 SURAU GADANG

Abstrak

Civic education is a subject that is used as a vehicle to develop and preserve the noble and moral values rooted in Indonesian nation culture (Susanto, 2014:225). The implementation off civic learning should be able and skilled in utilizing the many learning resources and effective learning model and efficient in accordance with the characteristics of students. However, based on observations and interviews in SDN 09 Surau Gadang in the learning pocess, the lessons are still teacher-centered, the students are less active in the learning process, the students do not discuss with the group’s friends, and the application of the learning model in the class. So that the efforts done bby the researcher in overcoming the problem is applying the learning model of the numbered head of the structure in the civic learning process.

The type of research used is experimental research with the population of all students class V SDN 09 Surau Gadang Academic Year 2017/2018 wich amounted to 3 classes. While the sample of this study are students of class VA and VB  SDN 09 Surau Gadang as many as 46 sstudents, sampling technique is random sampling and obtained class VA as experiemental class and class VB as control class. The data analyzedin this study is the cognitive domain citizenship learning scores colleted through objective tests.

This research showed that the average of experimental class final test was 79,85, while control class was 72,60. The results of the analysis on the level of real α = 0.05 showed that the value of tcountedwas 1.78 and ttable was 1.68. So obtained tcounted > ttable means H1 accepted and H0 rejected. The learning used the model numbered head of the structure effect on the learning result Citizenship Education at class V SD N 09 Surau Gadang Academic Year 2017/2018.

Based on the result, the researcher gives suggestions to teachers and also subsequent researcher be able to use the learning model numbered head of the structure in learning at the elementary school because it proven can improve student learning result.
