Volleyball is a game that consiting of two team to have members six players started with to strike ball “service” of skipped on top net for to get number, still every team can to play with three river a touch to send back ball for team a rival. Conform to Nuril (2007:19), “A game volleyball is game that complex that not simple to by done by every person, needed skill about technique foundation and technique result to can to play volleyball way efective.
This research belongs to corellation which relate independent variable that is motivation (X) with dependent variable that is service capability under in game of volleyball (Y). Population inthis study were all students junior students junior high school Bukittinggi. Which amounted 335 people. Sampling technique in this research is purposive samplingso that the sample in this study amounted to 54 people. The data collection for motivation is done by spreading the ques tionnaire and the service ability down with russel lange. The data obtained were analyzed by using correlation formula product moment which α = 0,05.
Hypothesis test results show there is a relation ship between motivation with the ability of the bottom service in a game of volleyball (robs = 0,345 > rtable 0,281 ) and (tobs = 2,520 > ttable = 2,012). This means that the higher the motivation passessed by student junior high school 2 Bukittinggi then game of volleyball is also incrpasing. In another sense the hypotesis is accepted (signifikan).
Based on the findings of research and discuccion that has been described in the previous section, it can be conclude that there is a significant relationship between motivation (X) with the ability of service (Y) bottom in the game volleyball in the student junior high school 2 Bukittinggi. From the result of this study, then the hypothesis can be received in this study. With 2 variables yes it is motivation as independent variable (X) and service under volley as dependent variable (Y).
