The Effectiveness of the Students’ Sentence in Exposition Text Garde X Sos-2 SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti, Solok Regency.”The Major Of Indonesian Language Education And Indonesian Literature at Bung Hatta University, Padang

Abstrak

The pupose of this research is to desribe: (1) The effectiveness of the students’ sentence grade X Sos-2 SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti by using sentence structure in exposition teks (2) The effectiveness of the students’ sentence grade X Sos-2 SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti by usig Indonesian Spelling (3) The effectiveness of students’ sentence grade X Sos-2 SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti by using diction in exposition text.

In this research, the researcher used sentence structure theory by Putrayasa (2010), spelling theory by Finoza (2013), and diction theory by Keraf (2009). The researcher using qualitative research and descriptive method by Moleong (2012). The population of this research is students grade X Sos-2 SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti, Solok Regency. The total number of the population is 25 students. To collecting the data, the researcher using some steps as follow: (1) reading whole of exposition text (2) to describe the effectiveness sentences in students’ exposition text by using sentence structure, in using correct spelling, and in using appropriate diction (3) to analyze the data (4) to calculate student’s ability.

For the result, we can be seen from (1) The total of students’ average score from aspect of  students’ ability in using correct  sentence structure were 18.63 indicator of students’ ability  in using correct sentence structure, students can not be effective in writing exposition text  in sentence structure aspect (2) The total of students’ average score were 75.94 indicator of students’ ability in using correct indonesian spelling, students can be effective in writing exposition text in Indonesion spelling aspect (3) The total of students average score were 95.89  indicator of students’ ability in using appropriate diction, students can be effective in writing exposition text in diction aspect.

Based on the result of the effectiveness of the students’ sentence in exposition text garde x sos-2 SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti, Solok Regency. It can be conclude that the effectiveness sentences in writing exposition text, students grade Sos-2 SMAN 1 Lembah Gumanti, Solok Regency can not be effective in writing exposition text because the students’ average score were 65.5. It should be 70 as KKM.
