Abstrak

This research is motivated by low participation Speaking student learning, because learning when students do not pay attention to the teacher explain the lesson and question and answer interaction between teachers and students during the learning process tend to be less effective in addition to the teachers also rarely use the media in the process to solve the problem learning the researchers used a method of group discussion, describe the research objectives Talking Increased student participation. This type of research is a classroom action research, the research activities of teachers' assessment of the results obtained during the learning process and student assessment speaks participation observation. The results contained in the participation sheet I Cycle I at 26.31% Indicator, Indicator II 21:05%, 18:42% Indicators III. with an average number of 21.84%. in Cycle II on Indicators I 68.41%, 65.78% Indicator II, and III Indicators 68.42% with an average number of 65.78%. means the target indicators in this study was achieved through group discussion method. Based on the results of the study concluded that through group discussion method can increase the participation of students learning to speak. Group discussion method should be used as an alternative learning method reference in learning.
