Effect of Application of Cooperative Learning Model Type Numbered Head Together on Science Learning Outcomes of Grade VI Students of SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara Padang
Abstrak
Natural Science is a human endeavor in understanding the universe through proper observation of targets, and using procedures, and explained by reasoning to get a conclusion.This research is based on the background of the observations that the author did on August 10, 2017 in class VI SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara Padang in science learning, obtained an illustration that the teacher is still using conventional learning methods. The author also sees teachers not using the media in the learning process. This resulted in students feeling less interested in the subject matter presented by the teacher. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences between students' learning outcomes between the Effect of the Application of Cooperative Learning Model Type Numbered Head Together (NHT) on the results of science learning in the sixth grade students of SDN29 Ulak Karang Utara, Padang City. This type of research is experimental research. The independent variable in this study is the application of Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model while the dependent variable is the learning outcomes of science. The population of this study were all sixth grade students of SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara in the 2017/2018 school year. A total of 40 students were selected as samples determined by purposive total sampling technique. The data analyzed in this study is the score of natural science learning outcomes in the cognitive domains collected through objective tests. The results showed that there was an effect of applying Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model to the learning outcomes of science in class VI SDN 29 Ulak Karang Utara Padang. This can be seen from the acquisition of the average value of the experimental class (86.25) higher than the acquisition of the average value of the control class (77.00) and the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test with (t_count = 2.447 ≥2.04 = t table). From the research it can be concluded that Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model gives a better influence than conventional learning. Looking at the results of this study, Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning models need to be applied and developed in order to achieve optimal learning outcomes.Keywords: Numbered Head Together (NHT), Science Learning Results, Experiments
