Developing Interactive Learning Media of Mathematics Subject by Using the Macromedia Flash on the Theme of Environment for Second Grade Students at SDN 19 Kampung Olo

Abstrak

This research aims at developing interactive learning media of Mathematics subject by using the Macromedia Flash on the theme of environment for second grade students at SDN 19 Kampung Olo. This research is conducted due to the lack of media available at the school. According to Rusman et al (2011: 170) “learning media are used to help transferring messages to students as well as stimulate their thoughts, feelings, attentions, and wills to study so that learning processes can be reached unconsciously, purposefully, and controlledâ€.

This Research and Development design involves some processes of developing and validating products which will be used later in the learning process in order to solve practical problems in the world of education especially those happening in the classrooms. The type of data used in this research is primary data which were taken directly from lecturers and teachers through validity and practicality questionnaires. The data of the research include: (1) the validity score given by lecturers who are expert in the field of media, and (2) the scores of responses from the teacher and students.

Based on the analysis done by the two validators, it is found that the media are in the category of “validâ€. The score given by the validators was 86%. This means the media are able to be used in the learning process of number multiplication. Meanwhile, based on the analysis of the teacher’s and students’ responses, it is found that the media are in the category of “practical†with the score of 93.4%. It means the teacher and students highly appreciate the use of the media in the learning process.

The results of validity and practicality analyses show that the interactive learning media of Mathematics subject by using the Macromedia Flash are valid and practical for second grade students.
