The Influence of Snowball Throwing Learning Model on Learning Outcomes of IPS Students of Class III in SD Negeri 01 Sasak Ranah Pasisie Pasaman Barat

Abstrak

Education is a planned effort in developing the process of changing the behavior of learners. Changes in behavior such as from aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills implemented in the process of learning activities. Susanto (2014: 85) states that: Education is an organized, planned and continuous effort throughout life to nurture students into a plenary, mature, and cultured human being. However, based on the observation in SD N 01 Sasak Ranah Pasisie Pasaman Barat District obtained information that the learning is still centered on the teacher by using lecture method, question and answer and giving the task, the less effective learning so that the effort done by the researcher in overcoming the problem is applying the Snowball Throwing in the IPS learning process.

The type of research used is experimental research with the population of this study is all students of SD Negeri 01 Sasak Ranah Pasisie Pasaman Barat District lesson year 2017/2018. While the sample of this study is the third grade students of SD Negeri 01 Sasak Ranah PasisiePasaman Barat District as many as 48 students divided into 2 classes namely class III A and class III B, using Purposive Sampling (purposive sample) obtained class III A as a class of control and class III B as an experimental class. The data analyzed in this research is the score of learning result of IPS student of cognitive domain collected through objective test.

The result of data analysis with hypothesis test using t-test is obtained tcount = 3,08  and ttable =2,015. So, tcount > ttable. Hence the hypothesis H1 accepted which means that there is influence of learning Snowball Throwing on learning outcomes IPS class III students In SD Negeri 01 Sasak Ranah Pasisie Pasaman Barat District.

Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that there is influence of learning model of Snowball Throwing to the learning result of IPS student of class III In SD Negeri 01 Sasak Ranah Pasisie Pasaman Barat District, so that model can be applied to achieve optimal IPS learning result in the school.
