INCREASED INTEREST IN STUDYING GRADE IIIA IN LEARNING SOCIAL STUDIES THROUGH THE TECHNIQUES OF ICE BREAKER IN SD KARTIKA 1-10 PADANG
Abstrak
The research was based on the lack of students’ interest in learning social studies of class IIIA in SD Kartika 1-10 Padang. The lecture method, a limited time to ask questions, and less attention to students' creativity are suspected to the problems. The purpose of this study to increase student interest in learning social studies in asking, answering and responding to questions, and exercises through ice breakertechniques. This type of research is the action research. Subjects of this study were 26 students of grade IIIA. The research instrument used is the student interest observation sheet, teacher activity sheets, questionnaires, and a final test. Based on the analysis of the student interest observation sheet in the first cycle for the indicator asks the students' interest is 43.23%, in the second cycle increased to 72.43%. Student interest in answering and responding questions is 37.30% in the first cycle, and increased in the second cycle to be 72.11%, students interest in working on exercises in the first cycle is 35.38%, and increased in the second cycle to be 72.11%. It can be concluded that learning through Ice Breaker techniques in learning social studies on a class IIIA of SD Kartika 1-10 Padang can increase students’ interest..
